Sprint confirms Android 2.2 coming to EVO 4G August 3rd

Tonight, Sprint announced via Twitter that they will begin their rollout of Android 2.2 Froyo to the HTC EVO 4G beginning August 3rd. Making Sprint the first carrier to rollout Froyo to any of the current Android handsets.

Android 2.2 rollout for HTC EVO 4G to begin Aug 1st?

If the above image is correct, Sprint is set to begin rolling out the Android 2.2 update to the EVO beginning August 1st, with an official announcement coming tomorrow morning. In addition to Froyo, the update will always include a slew of enhancements and fixes.

Verizon LTE USB modem poses for pictures

Images have just surfaced of Verizon's first LTE USB modem courtesy of BGR. As you can see from the photo below, the device is manufactured by LG and contains an open spot for the 4G LTE sim card. We expect this modem, and similar to devices to launch later this year, and on early into 2011.

Best Buy stocking Droid 2 cases

The Droid 2 may not be available just yet, but that doesn't stop the boys in blue from stocking up cases for it. We know of at least one Best Buy store that's already stocking cases, thanks to the above picture from Droid-Life. With all of the recent leaks of the Droid 2, the device has to be on its way soon right?

YouTube brings 15 minutes of fame

Today, YouTube increased their upload limit of clips from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.

The official word from Google:

Well, we’ve spent significant resources on creating and improving our state-of-the-art Content ID system and many other powerful tools for copyright owners. Now, all of the major U.S. movie studios, music labels and over 1,000 other global partners use Content ID to manage their content on YouTube. Because of the success of these ongoing technological efforts, we are able to increase the upload limit today.

Now you really can have your "15 minutes of fame."
