The Process of Downloading Samsung Smartphones is Faster than the iPhone

The independent mobile analytics company, Opensignal, releases a report on the influence of smartphones on the mobile network experience.
The process of downloading Samsung Smartphones is faster than the iPhone
One of the results of his research said Samsung smartphone users have the fastest download experience compared to Apple (iPhone) and Huawei.

Samsung smartphone users experienced faster downloads than iPhone and Huawei users in 35 percent of the 40 countries in this study. For the same thing, Apple only has a portion of 17.5 percent.

For the record, Opensignal in this research only includes data from three of the world's largest smartphone vendors based on the number of shipments. The three are Samsung, Huawei, and Apple. All of this data was collected from 1 April to 30 June 2019.

Samsung excels in 14 countries including Australia, Chile, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, and Norway, the United States (US). While Apple in Brazil, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.

In the US, Samsung smartphone users have an 8.2 Mbps download experience faster than iPhone users.

"Countries with huge profits for Samsung users are Norway with 12 Mbps faster than Huawei users, and 14 Mbps faster than iPhone users," Ian Fogg Opensignal VP Analysis wrote in his report.

Smartphone Segment

Open signal also compares users of the three biggest smartphone vendors, into three groups based on their network device capabilities. Here are the results:

1. High-tier smartphone (LTE Cat 16 and above)

Samsung users have the fastest download experience. They enjoy 26.6 Mbps globally, while Apple users 25.1 Mbps and Huawei 24.2 Mbps.

These smartphones include Galaxy S8, S9, S10, Note 8, Note 9, Huawei P20 Pro, P30 Pro, Mate 10, 20, and iPhone Xs.

2. Mid-tier smartphone (LTE Cat 5-15)

iPhone users are slightly faster than Huawei. iPhone users have a download speed experience of 16.5 Mbps, compared to 16.3 Mbps on Huawei and Samsung's 14.4 Mbps.

iPhones in this category have prices that are not much different from Samsung's high-end models. A number of smartphones in this category include iPhone XR, X, 8,7,6s, Huawei P30 Lite, and Samsung A80.

Low-tier smartphones (LTE Cat 4 and below)

Huawei excels in this segment with the download speed experience of 12.1 Mbps. While Samsung 9.7 Mbps and Apple 8.9 Mbps. Some smartphones in this category include Samsung A2 Core, J4, Huawei Nova 2, iPhone SE, and iPhone 6.

"Apple's challenge is that a bit of its smartphone is high tier when we group iPhones based on their mobile network experience capabilities. In our measurement, only 14 percent of iPhones are high-tier," Fogg said.
